Machine Gun Kelly

Machine Gun Kelly recently signed with Diddy's Bad Boy Records and won MTV New's annual poll for Breakthrough MC of 2011, beating out Lil Twist and Mac Miller.


MGK fiercely reps Cleveland and his crew EST with references in nearly every rap but it never seems old or forced. He separates himself from the influx of white rappers recently with perfect flow, insane speed rapping akin to Busta, and likes to play around with emphasis, reminding me of Luda sometimes.

So far he's released only mixtapes, with an album upcoming with Interscope/Bad Boy, but many of his recent mixtape are more like pre-albums and are high quality. Regardless, every mixtape I've heard is solid with Lace Up being one of my favorite mixtapes I heard all year.
